Surrounded by beautiful French countryside, Le Clos des Jardins offers three exquisitely restored holiday cottages, set in the extensive grounds of a typically French, 18th century Charentaise farmhouse. Each cottage, bursting with rural charm, has its own private lawned garden and everything on hand to ensure an utterly relaxing stay. ‘Le Four du Boulanger’ & ‘Les Ecuries’ when booked together offer a perfect scenario for younger families with grandparents.

Situated in the peaceful hamlet of Mandegault, just 100 km inland from La Rochelle and enjoying a blissful climate likened to that of the Mediterranean. The shared heated salt water swimming pool (12 x 4 metres) is protected by beautiful limestone walls which radiate the day’s heat throughout the evening.

A haven of peace and tranquility, our guests can enjoy the simple pleasures of rural France and pick organically produced fruit and vegetables, collect free range eggs and enjoy a meal at our ‘table d’hôtes’ on a Monday evening.

Set amidst fields of sunflowers in the Summer and chestnut coppice, the tiny, friendly village of Mandegault with its honey coloured stone walls and and canal tile roofs seems to sleep and shimmer in the heat of the day. Many of our visitors are struck by the tranquillity of life here, ‘the rural charm of England 50 years ago’!
