Tisane de Tilleul

Tisane de Tilleul : Early June is a most exciting and busy time in the garden here at ‘Le Clos des Jardins’.

Once the fresh green leaves of the magnificent Linden ‘tilleul’ tree have unfolded and the pale green flowers begin to open, the whole tree gently hums with the buzzing of the honey bees.

A week later the bees have gone and hailed by the most exquisite fragrance, the flowers are now ready of harvesting and drying in the sun. The dried Linden blossom is then put into linen bags and hung off a beam in the attic to be used throughout the year for a relaxing ‘tisane’.
