New Strawberry Bed

Having laid the old strawberry bed fallow for over a year and after periodic attacks on the deep-rooted bindweed, we’ve been soil shifting and still pulling out those nasty white spiral roots! We’ve used Chestnut from a local sawmill to create four ‘parterres’ which we’ve lined with battlements of geo textile. The young plants are already flowering; just enough this year for our little guests to sample; sun warmed and straight from the plant into the mouth!
